The relatively new Tea Leaf Nation recently reported on a meme going around the Chinese Internet that reveals a hidden secret in the Chinese 100RMB note — cartoon cats worshiping an even bigger cartoon cat. I shit you not.
Obviously there is no secret “Cult of 猫“. In actuality the security feature’s pattern is likely designed after a pattern from the Warring States period.
