Things have been quiet around Lost Laowai lately, and apologies for that. I’m hard at work on a redesign of the site, and so haven’t had much time to contribute. The redesign is nearly finished though, so hopefully regular posting will resume soon.
I just caught this video on Youku of a flash mob performance piece which happened yesterday at 11am on a chilly looking walking street in Changchun, Jilin. The performance was to draw attention to World AIDS Day (Dec. 1st) with a theme of “love of life, concerned about AIDS”. Kudos to these kids for braving the dongbei weather to make the video and draw attention to the cause:
Ryan came to China in the wee morning of 2005 as a way to get to Australia. He assumes there's still a visa waiting for him at the Sydney airport. 
Impressive. Great to see them working to increase AIDS awareness.
My heart really goes out to all those people who have to suffer the agony of living in Changchun too.
That was pretty good. Always fun to watch the passers-by also freezing in place, just trying to look & figure out what’s going on!
