A remenant story from the Beijing Olympics where Western media trying to cover something “sensitive” were met by the Chinese authoritarian public guard?

“… All three were violently manhandled by law enforcement officers. Abdel Kouddous was slammed against a wall and the ground, leaving his arms scraped and bloodied. He sustained other injuries to his chest and back. Salazar’s violent arrest by baton-wielding officers, during which she was slammed to the ground while yelling, “I’m Press! Press!,” resulted in her nose bleeding, as well as causing facial pain. Goodman’s arm was violently yanked by police as she was arrested.”

Nope - just another day at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Huh.

It’s times like this I’m happy I’m not an American and have to be embaressed by incidents like that (Not that the Canadian gov’t always treats people better).

Matt, the same thing happened at the DNC. This is just America these days, it has nothing to with whether it is the GOP’s neocons or the DNC’s neolibs.
