I'm going to China and I want to know about the possibility of being a denied a Z visa. I am entering the country on an L visa that needs to be converted to a Z visa.
For that reason, I need to have a medical exam done while I am in China. I have read a lot of conflicting information about having herpes and getting the medical done. Most of the information, including middle kingdom guide, indicates that the medical they do in China does not test for herpes.
Does it matter if it is Herpes of the mouth as opposed to Genital Herpes? Or is Genital Herpes something that will show up on the blood test and get denied the Z visa? Will Oral Herpes show up on blood test?

First, I don't think coming in on an L-visa hoping to convert it to a Z-visa is a good idea. Why not just come in on a Z-visa if you're going to be working?
I don't see how oral herpes will cause you any trouble. As long as you're not bleeding from your ears, you'll be fine.
