Stop the flickr Block

Sometime near the start of June 2007 the servers that host flickr's images was blocked in the People's Republic of China. Access to the main flickr site is fine, but the photos don't display.

Enter Firefox and the Access Flickr plugin.

Firefox is an Internet browser on par (and often considered much better) than Microsoft's Internet Explorer. In fact, Internet Explorer's latest version (v7) was largely released in an effort to catch up to features that Firefox has been offering for years.

One such feature is the ability to use plugins, or small components that are easily added or subtracted from the browser to increase functionality. One such plugin is the Access Flickr plugin. It's as simple as downloading Firefox, installing the plugin and returning to the world of people who can see flickr photos.
