One of the world’s most elegant pops orchestras is coming to Suzhou.
The Mantovani Orchestra was originally founded by Annunzio Paolo Mantovani. He was a violinist, a composer, and a conductor.
During 1935-1936, Mantovani’s “Red Sails in the Sunset”, “Serenade to the Night” became popular in the US, and he was thus dubbed as the king of light music. He toured to the US, Canada, Germany, and Japan, often breaking attendance records. He was the first artist to sell one million stereophonic LPs, and during his lifetime he sold a total of 35 million recordings.
