Photo: Left Luggage

China Photo: Left Luggage
The Lost Laowai flickr pool is full of talented photographers, but I continuely return to the photography of “Zhao Hua Xi Shi” for our featured photos. It’s cliche to say that a picture is worth a thousand words, but I can’t think of a better way to describe this image, or indeed most of the images in this photostream.

Every week(ish) we’ll feature an interesting, funny, beautiful or otherwise noteworthy photo here. If you have a photo you think might make a good Photo of the Week, throw it in the pool at the Lost Laowai flickr Group and if you’ve got a great caption for it, send that to us as well.

  2. Hi Ryan,

Many thanks for the link. When I took this photo it put me in mind of the ‘let some get rich first’ Deng-era dictum…these migrants – though they have seen a degree of economic advancement – are effectively told that they are in ‘left luggage’ storage. The Government will come back for them.

Perhaps the photo is a bit too unsubtle though.

    Chris
